Placement Information

Before you can register for any math class at SCC, you will need to have met the prerequisites for that course.  Information about prerequisite checking is available here.  You may take the COMPASS test on our campus to determine which courses are appropriate for you.  The COMPASS testing schedule is available here.  Here are some practice problems for the numerical/pre-algebra/algebra COMPASS test. And here are some practice problems for the college-algebra/geometry/trigonometry COMPASS test.  Additionally, here are some practice problems from Tacoma Community College.  Once you've taken the COMPASS test, you can use our placement chart to determine which courses are appropriate for you.  If you would like to talk with a math advisor, contact one directly.  All math advisor contact information is listed here.

If you are currently enrolled in a math class, but do not pass with a 2.0 or better, you may NOT take the next level math class.  For information on what to do if this happens, read this.
