Shoreline Students Receive National Academic Awards

Ava Munson was named to the Phi Theta Kappa All-Washington Academic Team. Now Munson has been named a New Century Scholar by the Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society. Munson is the first Shoreline PTK scholar to be named a New Century Scholar, receiving the highest score in the 63 All-Washington applications. The New Century Scholar Award brings a $2,000 scholarship from the Coca Cola Scholars Foundation and the Coca Cola Foundation. Carol Moy was also named to the Phi Theta Kappa All-Washington Academic Team last fall. (Only two students from each of the state's 34 community colleges receive this honor for academic successes, leadership and community contributions.) Moy went on from there to be designated a Gold Scholar by the Coca-Cola Scholars Foundation.  Only 50 students across the country earn this designation along with $1,500. More...
