Novel Uses of Tegrity to Augment Fully-Online and Face-to-Face Classrooms

Shoreline Community College faculty use Tegrity in innovative ways outside of traditional lecture capture. A panel of SCC faculty (Emma Agosta, Dennis Chang, and Kira Wennstrom) will demonstrate how they use Tegrity in fully-online science laboratories, for introductions / tutorials to the online class environment, for remote proctoring, and to “flip the classroom” even in a face-to-face course.

This course is designed to provide online instructors with principles and best practices for online teaching. This 3-week course is asynchronous, entirely online, and is all about online pedagogy, including the implementation of instructional design principles in the online teaching environment.
Note: This course uses ANGEL as a platform, but will not teach participants how to use ANGEL applications. You do not need to use ANGEL as your course management system on your campus to take this course.

An Orientation to the Grade Center in Bb 9.1

You will learn how to do the following in the new Grade Center in Blackboard Learn (version 9.1): create a new graded column, create categories and weight your grades, create a calculated Total Points column (if you don’t weight your grades), see points possible for your entire course, download and print your grade sheet, create smart views and grading periods, organize the columns in your grade center, and make certain student rows invisible.
