Story Criteria

These are the key criteria I will use when evaluating your stories. Please keep them in mind as well when reading your classmates' stories, and direct your comments accordingly.

• Narrative arc (beginning/middle/end; think of the plot triangle I put on the board in class, and in Gardner, page 187 - 188.)
• Conflict, something at stake (some sense of real consequences for both characters and the reader)
• Imagery, detail (the vivid, continuous dream)
• Mechanics (grammar, spelling, punctuation)
